A team of dedicated professional musicians that are specialist teachers.
Colourstrings is the
ONLY internationally recognized music program that can take a child from the
earliest music experiences all the way through to instrumental study
(if they wish to).
We recognize that you, as a parent play a vital role in your child's early musical development. We believe that everyone is musical and can learn to sing in tune and achieve basic music competence. Our mission is to nurture a life-long love of music that enables each child to fulfill their musical potential through high quality fun
and creativity in a positive, non-performance based environment.
Sing, Dance, Pretend, Explore!
Musical fairy tales and colourful props inspire and captivate the children s imagination. Through playful, developmentally appropriate activites children develop in-tune singing and become musically literate prior to learning an instrument. The benifits are that if your child later decides to learn an instrument they will easily be
able to tell if they are playing in tune and hear the subtle differences in pitch and
rhythm.
Join us in music land where fairy-tales, singing, toys and instruments live side by side!
About Colourstrings
Colourstrings originates from Finland, it has been a core part of their state music education for
more than thirty-five years and is now an internationally respected way of
teaching music to young children. It has already unintentionally produced many generations of
professional musicians and active hobbyists world-wide. Many
local education authorities in Britain are now introducing
Colourstrings into their schools.
The earlier they are exposed to music, the more fluent they will become! If
a child starts under 3 years (and preferably earlier), we can do
an enormous amount to help foster musicality and enjoyment of music for the
future. The younger they start the greater their musical skill and understanding!
Our mission is to;
nurture
the innate musicality of each child at every stage!
provide a set of experiences, which will help to develop within
each child, a personal response to music.
support each child's emotional growth, strengthening their personality,
fostering creativity and social skills.
develop a lifelong interest in
music
provide a stepping stone to the professional study of music.
Central to our teaching approach is the role of play and
imagination – often the value of play can be overlooked in the rush to
get on with the ‘real’ lesson.
"Colourstrings is an exceptional method in the training of young musicians and I have yet to experience a more successful approach to developing musicianship, aural awareness and solid musical principles in the very young" Derek Aviss, Principal, Trinity College of Music
