Music Assistant required part-time 2-4 hours on a weekly basis; enthusiastic, reliable individuals with a strong musical background required to assist Colourstrings music kindergarten classes. The role of the assistant is to support the specialist teacher in singing and activities. The assistant acts as a role model for the children demonstrating musical concepts, good behaviour, encouraging participation and providing emotional support.
Colourstrings is an internationally reputable approach to musicianship and instrumental teaching is based on the work of Kodaly, Orff and Dalcroze. These are Playful yet structured classes taught in an extraordinarily musical way. The Simple graded song books and CD's encourage the young child to listen well, sing in tune & develop many important musical skills through increasingly specific activities. This training will prepare the young child for learning an instrument more easily and successfully if they eventually wish to do so through Colourstrings.
Requirements;

Enthusiastic reliable individuals with a strong musical background to assist with Colourstrings music kindergarten classes. No experience necessary.

Must be able to sing in-tune, sing in 2 parts and enjoy working with children aged 3-6 years.

Kodaly/ Orff / Dalcroze teachers or classically trained instrumentalists would be an asset.

Colourstrings violin/ cello/ guitar/ piano/ flute teachers required; Enthusiastic, reliable individuals who are interested in learning and possibly training to teach Colourstrings.
Colourstrings is an internationally reputable kodaly based method of teaching that develops the young child's instrumental technique and musicianship skills side by side. A colour-coded system of notation simplifies early music reading/ writing whilst musicianship games and an overall sense of play engages the youngsters into highly focused studies. Favourite songs from the music kindergarten reappear in the instrumental books creating an integrated system of learning that has already produced many generations of professional musicians and active hobbyists.
Requirements;

Must be able to sing in-tune, sing in 2 or 3 parts and enjoy working with young children aged 41/2 years +.

Professional musicians/ teachers that are presently or have attained a high level of training (Degree in music or equivalent).

Kodaly training would be an asset but no previous training is required.

In order to maintain a high standard of teaching the Colourstrings name may only legally be used by certified teachers. To qualify as a Colourstrings teacher (C.S.A.V/ C.S.A.K.) you must complete a five day summer course, three weekend workshops, written and practical work and tests in London or Finland and receive a certificate.
